Basically, RIAA...having watched the net income of its members
diminish...does not believe that ANYBODY has a legal right to
copy ANY sound rercording (which, thanks to them and the late
Sonny Bono, won't enter the "public domain" until AT LEAST
January 1.2067 (subject to change through further amendment
if needs be...?!) regardless of the ownership of the artifact
containing said sound recording...!

I personally suspect that their next steps will be (1) to
establish and enforce the death penalty for violations of
their eternal copyright term (possibly by having all such
cases tried in Texas...?!)...and(2) the enactment of 
legislation mandating a quota for the number of RIAA-
sponsored sound recordings to be purchased for each and
every legal resident of the US of A...?!

Quite seriously (unlike the above)...what worries me is the
danger that RIAA may drive our Canadian Federal government
(noted for its "Americophilia"...!) to change the length of
the copyright term for sound recordings so that it matches
the "eternity or forever, whichever is longer" term of
sound recording copyright now extent in the US of A...?!
