Re: [ARSCLIST] Fun little blog

I don't think you looked at the site very closely, the people who contribute to it have interests that are much more wide ranging than rock and roll. I don't fully appreciate the waxidermists' obsession with outsider folk music and private press psychedelia, but I have discovered many interesting records through the site & its forum. They are doing a great job of presenting information about performers and music that would otherwise be completely obscure, their records pressed in small quantities and probably not present in any institutional collections.

Quoth the reader/witness...FEH!!!

This site is a/the (one? or more?) sample of the vapid commentary
on music-in-general (198?-2007), posted by a typical 21st century
self-appointed "expert in the area of things musical"...who, like
all of his/her/its ilk, assumes that REAL "music" arrived with
(1) The debut of the Sex Pistols...thus "punk rock"...
(2) The invention of "hard rock"/"heavy metal" (see under "Led
Zeppelin revival concert" and prepare to be scared...?!)
(3) The debut of Elvis Presley, and thus of "rock and roll!"
(select one...!).

99.9% of the current "music lovers" are blissfully ignorant of
the fact that popular music actually existed well before the
invention of "rock'n'roll!" IF pressed, they can cite Frank
Sinatra and, possibly, Tony Bennett...?!
