Old Time Radio guys are still the best trail toward what you are looking 
for.  It's abbreviated as OTR.  Web srch should give you all kinds of leads. 
Their older format of choice was the audio cassette.  You may find you have 
to convert from cassette to MP3.

If you have no luck finding them, ask the Library of Congress folks for the 
names of periodicals that are devoted to OTR.
