Those tapes was equalized to the IEC/CCIR standard no doubt at all.

This is using 35 µS and infinity for IEC/CCIR versus the NAB 50 µS and
3180 µS.

Using NAB to play IEC/CCIR tapes would give you a bright, thin sound
since it would net you a high frequency shelf of + 3 dB at 10 kHz and a
bass rolloff giving - 3 dB at 50 Hz continuing rolling off at 6
dB/octave giving around -9 dB at 25 Hz.

No doubt since some of the tape machines used in the Soviet Union where
German made Telefunken and Swiss made Studer machines using B Wind as
per the requirement of the German Broadcasting.
