Re: [ARSCLIST] Early DG 78s/History - A few interesting 78s I have.

I am doing inventory on my 78s,for the first time in like 3-4 years.I have some unusual DGG 78s,some I bought between 2002-4,on eBay Germany, for a Euro or two (Their "Musik:Schellack" category,is no more, btw.),and some I bought at a thrift store,in 1996.

- B 27536-7 Vasa Prihoda Paganini Sonata No.12/Romanza Andaluza Black "Schallplatte Gramophon" label, posssibly dogless.Couldn't say, period Polydor stickers cover the top half of the labels.Record is dated 1927.

- I own several tulip 78s.The earliest one I have uncovered,is a repress of 68287,Enrico Mainardi, doing the Von Weber cello sonata. This is dated 1942, placing it in he doggie era.The tulip label reads "Hergestellt unter lizenz-no N/23/48" 1948?

I am also the proud owner of a mint, yes mint 04880-81 pre-1920 (1917?) 78 of Richard Strauss conducting The Staatskappel Berlin,in two waltzes from "Der Rosenkavelier".

"The Dogless Horns" Now there's a great band name. I hope nobody will sue me
for copyright infringement if I use it...
