No...Nipper literally "moved to Canada" when Emile Berliner did...in
fact, Berliner's use of Nipper in a Montreal newspaper ad may be the
first public appearance...!

Since Emile's son, Herbert, founded the Compo Company in 1919...and,
as a result, was fired from the Canadian firm he ran c.1922, and was
replaced by his brother...and, thereafter, the company was taken over
as a Canadian branch of VTM (eventually, RCA Victor(C)).
