	Ideally I think that both methods should be used on each
cylinder / record. I can see real value in preserving both the raw data
as closely as possible by electronic means, and capturing as closely as
possible the original listener experience. In that way, the historical
context is preserved. Both strike me as being historically valuable. It
is too bad that in the real world the costs of doing both on each
recording make that rarely possible.
