A local (Toronto, Ont'o., Canada) retailer ("Honest Ed") sells, or used to
replacement cassette cases at a very reasonable (read "CHEAP!") price.
I have no idea which "Poly..." substance they were made from ("Polly-
want-a-cracker"...?!).

I have had VERY good luck with cassette tapes, including six or so
made in 1968-69 on Philips cassettes (when they held the patents to
the format...!). The only problems I have run into were with automobile
players...which had a nasty habit of, on occasion, "eating" the tape,
winding it around the internal mechanisms to the point that the tape
could have only been removed by completely dismantling the player...!
