I've been lucky enough to hear IRENE in person. I haven't listened to the samples on the web site. However I can't say that I ever heard "good" sound over the Internet, ever. So to make a judgment based on a Internet sample, might not be the basis of a fair judgment call. The sound quality of the IRENE project in general is very good, especially the 3D samples. Carl Haber is doing a great job. This is one of the most exciting positive steps I've heard in the field of audio restoration. Carl Haber and his team should be applauded and encouraged to keep on keeping on.
