listening  to Jean Shephers on WOR at night.  One night I caught the program that  
they did during the famous NE electrical blackout.  The xmtr was in NJ  
(which had poer) so they did an all-talk show via the phone lines from their  
studios in NYC, powered by generators using gasoline (petrol) graciously  hauled up 
many flights of stairs by fans of WOR!
