Actually, I looked up the history of the Packers sometime back. When
the team was started (and one of its competitors was the Decatur
Staleys, who eventually became the Chicago Bears) it was owned by
a Green Bay meat-packing company, who used it for promotion of
their products. As the rest of the small-city midwestern teams
were moved into "major markets," the Green Bay citizens managed
to avoid that fate, thanks to a loyal local following.

However, I have lost interest (and faith) in professional sports
(and the corporate world, as well...) in the 21st century! Every
time I read my way through the paper, I'm reading about athletes
(and CEO's) who have just raked in x-hundred-million dollars...
which is about x-ten(s of) thousands times the pittance the
Ontario Gov't grudgingly allots me for survival...
FEH!

To tell the truth, I'm dommed if I can figure out how one would
spend $100,000,000.00 (even Canadian...!). There are 2,960,000
78's that I DON'T own yet...so that gives me about $33.79 per
record to fill all the gaps...
