3M Company's Zebra tape seems to have been the standard of the industry for  
a long period of time.  When 3M dropped its mag tape products  line, 
Ampex-then-Quantegy marketed the same(?) or a similar product with a  green backing 
rather than the black-and-white stripes. Now it too is  gone.  
 
There are acid free tapes marketed by Dick Blick Art Supply (Galesburg, IL)  
and Art Supply Enterprises (Oakland, CA) that may be useful.
