If you want these, get 'em now as they are discontinued. These are 5" 
reels, the original post was about 7" reels. The 5" reels are great 
and I use them for 8-track cartridges and other short lengths. (more below)

Yup, the infrastructure and supply lines for reel tapes is rapidly 
folding and prices are going up. Several years ago, I bought a box of 
180 of the 7" reels when a supplier was closing their doors.

A collector of old tape machines, Matt Laube, signs his name (and his 
email address is) reeltapegone ...

We keep seeing signs of it  -- except for the millions of hours of 
audio stored on it.
