----- "Hit of The Week" were processed discs, not instantanous recordings. 
They were made in a rotary "printing press", embossing the negative as an 
impression in a heated pre-preg (the modern term in plastics technology, not 
used then) on kraft paper base, containing a phenolic compound very much like 
Condensite (Edison's Diamond Disc surface), which again is very much like the 
independently developed Bakelite (TM).

----- so, unfortunately, it is not possible to consider longevity of phenolic 
records as a demonstration that paper based lacquer discs also have 
longevity.
