Has anybody ever challenged the current copyright law on this
term and its operating definition?

My oldest record is a Berliner dated April 16, 1895...and it won't
be public domain until January 1 (I think), 2067! 172 years isn't,
IMHO, exactly "limited time!"

By that time, the record artist and his progeny unto the sixth
generation or so...as well as Emile Berliner and his employees
and the descendants of all of 'em...will be somewhat dead...
And I'll have to live to 125...
