Recommending a Mac is bound to start an argument. I belong to the tribe that 
considers pro fools an abomination. The only DAW I care to work with is 
PC-based Samplitude, which is truly nifty.

Headaches with PCs? After almost five years of running 98SE on a Dell CPU, I 
finally retired the old box in the Spring, and paid a local computer chap to 
build me a decent box. I'm perfectly happy with it.

Four percent of computer users trumpet "Mac is best." The rest of us just 
get on with the work on our PCs, happy to have access to a truly remarkable 
variety of programmes. More and more I'm finding that colleagues who use a 
Mac as the primary DAW also have a PC configured similarly.

So it boils down to "Whatever rocks your boat."
