[ARSCLIST] Archival LP Record storage

I have some concerns of the best way to store my collection of LPs.  For
years I had been convinced that the fibers in regular paper sleeves posed
too much potential for damage when compared to the regular plastic
sleeves that many major labels used in the 80's and 90's.  I started
hoarding the plastic inner sleeves for my best LPs and  I even started
buying the paper sleeves that were lined with Polypropylene plastic.
I've been going thru and cleaning LPs with the Nitty Gritty and it seems
that the LPs in plastic sleeve have more static and lint on them,
although I haven't seen much of the haze residue that appears in some
cases.  I've started washing the LPs and then transferring them into the
new paper sleeves.

I'm interested if there is any prevailing wisdom on what type of inner
sleeve is best, or inadvisable for that matter.  How important would
something like acid free paper, as opposed to regular paper sleeves, be.
Is there any reason to choose sleeves that don't have a center hole over
those that do?  I also have noticed that Bags Unltd has a new "Rice
Paper" style sleeve, which has High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) with a
paper between one side to absorb moisture and such.  They look quite a
bit like some of the sleeves that seemed to come on European releases and
more high end "audiophile" pressings that were made by a company that had
a logo that was "VPI" if my memory serves me correctly.  How would these
be different from actual rice paper?  From what I've noticed about LPs
that I have cleaned and transferred to Medium weight paper sleeves over
the last year it appears that they seam to stay pretty clean, with only
minor bits of dust getting picked up.  There is little static and it
doesn't appear that the fibers of the sleeve seem to scuff or damage the
surface much so I'm inclined to keep doing it this way if there is not
some major evidence against doing so.

I've also been putting them into plastic sleeves that have a sealable
flap.  I've been using both the regular Polyethylene sleeves and the
Japanese style Polypropylene.  Is there any reason why one or the other
might be better or worse?  If this has already been discussed in detail
or there are some studies or articles on the web I'd be happy to check
them out.  I have been saving most of the old digests of this list for a
while, but don't recall seeing any threads of late, so please try to give
me a rough date if there is something I can check in my archives.
