Re: [ARSCLIST] New turntable query

Will:
We bought an Esoteric turntable for 16" discs with variable speed from Kurt
Nauk. We have been very pleased with it. Check his web-site. Have also
heard good things about KAB products (we get all our styli from them).

We're looking around the marketplace for new turntables, and wondering
about some Esoteric Sound models, specifically the REK-O-KUT CVS-14,
CVS-16 (direct drive) and RONDINE 3 (belt drive) models
(http://www.esotericsound.com/turntable1.htm). The spec for the belt
driven model shows rumble of -60dB, but the direct drive model spec only
shows a "hum/noise" figure of -75dB; presumably when the plate spins
it's a tad noisier.

Anyone have any experience/opinions on these? Is there anything else
*currently on the market* that we should know about?

Thanks

Will
