[ARSCLIST] ARSC Conference and Austin Record Show

As many of you know from the Conference Packet, ARSC members will be given
complimentary (that's FREE) admission to the huge Austin Record Show being held
 the weekend of ARSC Conference. (Regular days are Saturday and Sunday so
book a  later flight for Sunday). Having attended the October Show while in
Austin for  the ARSC Board Meeting, I wanted to alert those coming that the Record
Show is  not held in downtown Austin. It is about 5 or 10 miles from downtown
and there  is no public transportation.

However, Austin is a big business city and car rentals on weekends can be
real cheap. I rented at airport in October for about $10./day!).

Anyway, in planning your trip, I wanted to make folks aware of the location
of the Austin show. I'm sure there will be many with cars in Austin and folks
can group together to go.

Otherwise the location of Conference and Conference Hotel is PERFECT. You
will not need a car. Everything is walkable and it's only 5 or 6 blocks from the
 heart of the Austin Music Scene and restaurants. (Though I did venture out
to  the Texas BBQ capital to try the Best BBQ).
