Another thought... if you do end up wishing to stay with a
workstation-hosted burner and want something extremely accurate (very low
BLER), Sonic Solutions has recently released a standalone SCSI burner
designed for low-speed audio applications. It's a modified TEAC mechanism
that can burn at up to 12x but is optimized for audio burning at 1-2x. It's
outlandishly expensive at $2500 but seems to be a unique product. Anyone
know how this compares to the Sony CDW-900E (which is just a wee bit long in
the tooth)?
