Which meant "WE" to begin with! There are key combinations for circled
C's and R's...but 78-L deletes those anyway!

In any case, thw "W" indicated the song had been recorded using the
patented Western Electric system...and thus Columbia owed Western
Electric money. Whether Columbia omitted the "W" on Harmony in hopes
that WE wouldn't notice (and thus save a cent or three)...or whether
they had a less-perfect system of their own being used (experimentally?)
on Harmony, I don't know...
