The audio content probably doesn't go very high (5 KHz ?), 
but the more accurately
you transfer the clicks and scratches the easier it is for any
processing software (CEDAR etc) to remove them cleanly.

So in practice it would be best to record up to 20KHz for the benefit of
the cleanup software.
