arsclist Gracenote and other "automatic recognition" DBs

Dear friends:

Both the Windows Media Player and Real One Player offer automatic recognition of the audio CDs placed in a computer's CD/DVD ROM drive. I assumed that they both used the Gracenote database, but today WMP recognized a CD that RealOne did not. Does anyone know anything about who WMP is using? If it's not Gracenote, who are they using or have they rolled their own? If Gracenote, why would one service recognize it, but not the other?

Any insights welcome.
