RE: arsclist New Technics Sp-15 Thrust bearing Availability

Dear ARCLIST members.

Beginning next week I should have the new Thrust Bearings for the
Technics SP-15 turntables ready. My machinist dropped off the prototype
bearing last night and it is beautiful and works great! (I have it
installed on MY sp-15!) Production units should be ready by next week
and will be limited to 12 units initially and more will be made if there
is a demand for more.

I will be taking advanced orders for the first 12 units. That way I
might be able to get him to turn a few more out if need be before the
end of next week.

I have the preliminary Installation guide available in PDF format if
anyone would like to take a look at the installation process. It is
pretty simple and should take less then 20 minutes to install.

Bearing kits will be priced at 39.95 plus shipping and include the new
hand machined 3/16" thick bearing plate, screws, an Allen wrench, a
packet of some specially formulated grease, and the installation guide.

These bearing kits add a large degree of stability to the Sp-15's
platter. Plus the added 1mm of height helps to avoid the platter from
scraping on the chassis if you use a record brush such ad a D4 system or
similar. These new bearings won't bend or warp under the heaviest of
record weights either.
