I am a grants officer with the National Historical Publications and Records
Commission (NHPRC). One of our current funding proposals, to be decided in
May 2003, is from an organization that is trying to preserve reel-to-reel
tape recordings made in the late 1950s and early 1960s in both analog and
digital formats. To put it bluntly, I could use a few good reviewers.

If you agree to serve as a reviewer, I will send you a copy of the proposal
and some forms for you to fill out in the evaluation process in early
November. You may be as detailed or concise as you like in your comments.
The evaluation forms and comments should be back to me by the first week in
