We have the steel shelves with the adjustable vertical supports and have not noted any vibration problems, even from staff voices. However, our storage space and our playback space are not the same space. Hence, an area that is strictly for storage might not have such a problem; it's also true that the vertical dividers can rattle a little if they are not physically adjacent to record sleeves - which they ought to be if they are supporting the discs.
