EEASY Email Event Announcement SYstem initiated by WAAC

If you are not on-line yet, here is another reason to get wired.

The WAAC Board is establishing an email distribution list to notify members of upcoming conservation-related events. This list will send announcements of events to members via email. WAAC members with email addresses in the 2001 Membership Directory should already have received the following email asking if they would like to be included. If you did not receive it, send an email to cstavrou@ix.netcom.com expressing your interest, which geographical region(s) and specialization(s) interest you, and whether you wish your email address to be published in the WAAC Membership Directory. You may participate in EEASY and not have your email address published.

If you would be interested in becoming a regional event tsar - the person who edits the submissions sent to a region, also email cstavrou@ix.netcom.com.

Dear WAAC Member

WAAC, the Western Assn. for Art Conservation, proudly announces EEASY, the Email Event Announcement SYstem, to our membership. This system has been added to the WAAC membership database to send out email based announcements of events of interest to conservators.

This is an opt-in service. After this posting, you will not receive another unsolicited announcement from WAAC. To receive announcements, you must reply to this message. Please specify the geographic areas and specializations for which you would like to be notified.

Anyone may submit an event announcement to EEASY, you do not have to be a WAAC member. Postings will be sent out as quickly as possible or as close to the requested announcement date, if one is specified, as is convenient.

Announcements generated by EEASY are offered to WAAC members only. It is offered as a courtesy, not a part of your membership. WAAC reserves the right to remove any member from the list at any time. Reasons for removal from the list include too many changes of email address, too many bounced emails, or too many changes in geographic or specialization information.

Consistent with our policy on mailing lists, WAAC will not release our email listings to anyone. We will post announcements for any event only once. We send out messages as received and are not responsible for correcting errors made in the information provided to WAAC. It is the sole discretion of WAAC to determine which submitted announcements are of interest to our membership and WAAC reserves the right to not send out an announcement even if requested. The EEASY system is for events only and is offered as a public service. EEASY will not post announcements about employment or internship positions, or post commercial or advertising related announcements.

To submit an announcement to the WAAC membership, email the text in the body of an email message to cstavrou@ix.netcom.com. Please include contact information, whether reservations are necessary, and any costs in the announcement. Attachments and HTML encoded messages will not be accepted.

Originally discussed at a Board Meeting a few years ago, we hope that the service will be of use to the WAAC membership and to organizers of events of interest to conservators.
