TECHNICAL EXAMINATION OF RENAISSANCE MEDALS THE USE OF LAUE BACK REFLECTION X-RAY DIFFRACTION TO IDENTIFY ELECTROFORMED REPRODUCTIONS

Glenn Wharton

ABSTRACT—The history of medallic reproduction techniques is sketched, and means by which the techniques can be distinguished described. In particular, the identification of electroformed reproductions by Laue back reflection X-ray diffraction is investigated.
