varnishing machine
A machine resembling a printing press in many
respects and used to varnish printed sheets,
usually for the purpose of brightening and
preserving colors, as well as to impart additional
wear resistance. The varnish is applied from a
fountain by means of rollers, as in printing, and
the sheets are then conveyed on a canvas web into
a drying oven for drying in a dust free
atmosphere. (320 )
