unbleached sulfate pulp
A paper pulp produced mainly from softwood trees
containing a relatively high proportion of resin,
e.g., the pines, which are cooked for relatively
short cycles. The pulp has a very low color, is
relatively shivey, and is unsuitable for bleaching
because of its high chlorine requirement. It is
characterized by exceptional strength. (17 , 98 )
