stripping machine

A device used to apply a strip of cloth or paper to endpapers, reinforce side stitched or sewn books between the cover and outer sections, reinforce the folds of sections, hinge or guard folded maps, and apply strips of cloth or paper to pads, check books, composition books, and the like. The machine can accommodate books up to 2 inches thick and apply strips 1/2 to 3 inches wide. It can be used with hot melt or cold adhesives, or water if the material used is pre-glued. (264 )
