potassium ferrocyanide

A yellow, crystalline salt (K 4 Fe(CN) 6 ), prepared by the reaction of potassium cyanide with ferrous salts, and used in combination with other substances as a paper fungicide. Although only slightly toxic under normal circumstances, it can form extremely toxic gases if heated strongly or mixed with hot, concentrated acids. Also called "yellow prussiate of potash."
