A type of press consisting of two wooden blocks
about 6 1/2 inches square and 4 or 5 feet long,
fitted with two compression screws operating
through brass chucks in each block, and operated
by means of a bar inserted in the screw heads. The
available DAYLIGHT
of the press is generally sufficient to allow the
pressing and gilding of the edges of several books
