dammar (gum)
Any of several semifossil or recent resins,
principally of East Indian origin, but especially
a soft, clear to yellow recent resin obtained
mainly in Malaysia and Indonesia from trees of the
family Dipterocarpacae (especially of the genera
Shorea, Balanocarpus and Hopea) and used in the
manufacture of PRINTING INKS .
