Daniel Boone (Enid Yandell, 1894)
This sculpture commemorates one of America's most legendary pioneers. Daniel Boone was born in Pennsylvania in 1734 and became an accomplished hunter and explorer. He is most known for opening Kentucky to settlement. He founded the city of Boonsboro on the Kentucky river. In the sculpture, he is shown wearing the clothes of a frontiersman: buckskins and moccasins with a coonskin cap.
