Pan (Enid Yandell, 1904)
There are over 100 sculptures in the United States that show the figure Pan, including three in the State of Kentucky. Pan is a figure from Greek mythology known as the god of shepherds and the hunt who often symbolizes nature. He has a goat's legs and plays the reed pan-flute. Why do you think the artist chose to include Pan in this artwork?
