The Marquis de Lafayette (1932) by Paul Wayland Bartlett
Did you know that one of the key figures in the American Revolution was French? In 1777, LaFayette traveled across the Atlantic to help free the American Colonies from the British. He was immediately made a major general in George Washingtons army. Two years later, he returned to France to persuade the French king to help the American Colonies gain independence from Britain. Can you guess where the original version of this sculpture is located?
