Alkaline Conversions

The St. Jérôme mill of Rolland Inc. has four paper machines, of which three were converted to alkaline in April, 1990. The fourth was converted December 1992. In May 1992, Gerry Zampini, Director of Marketing, announced that all Rolland alkaline papers met ANSI Z39.48-1984 specifications for permanence. This applied not only to their virgin sheets, he said, but to the full line of their recycled papers.
