- Edward H. Snider, retired papermaker and former member o; the
Editorial Board of Pulp and Paper Canada, opened a
handmade paper company, Cranberry Mills, on September 7,1991, just
north of Kingston, Ontario. It is in a barn on Snider property.
All waste is either recycled or recovered and composted. Cranberry
Mills produces stationery, envelopes and cards, and fine art paper,
in a variety of weights. Testing equipment includes a Canadian
Standard Freeness Tester, a grammage scale, a motorized micrometer,
a Digi-Tear Elmendorf Tearing Tester and a Mullen Tester. (From the

- Hardev S. "Doug" 'Dugal, president of Integrated Paper Services,
Inc., in Appleton, received the TAPPI honor of Outstanding Local
Section Member Award, and will be recognized at the October meeting
of the Lake States Local Section.
- Dave Dumas has been appointed director of technology at
Hercules' European paper chemicals research center in Barneveld, The
Netherlands.
