Nicholas Wiseman is the new paper industry chair at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST).
Herbert H. Espy, whose short history of the first alkaline sizing appeared in the August 1990 issue of this Newsletter, retired as research associate of Hercules' Paper Technology Group, after 35 years with the company. He was primarily involved there with research and applications development of Kymene wet-strength resins, which are used as retention aids with AKD size.
