Corrections

• Roger C. Howard, whose paper "The Effects of Recycling on Paper Quality" was favorably reviewed in the most recent issue of APA, has written to say that the version reviewed was actually an unauthorized one, printed by Paper Technology without his permission. Paper Technology has publicly apologized for the error. The authorized version appeared in the Journal of Pulp and Paper Science, v.16 #5, Sept-1990.
• Luis Nadeau, whose "Chronology of Office Copying Processes" was announced on p. 41 in the August issue, writes to say that the final version of his chronology will appear not in the third edition of his Encyclopedia, but in the third volume of the first edition, which is scheduled for late 1992.
• Keeping track of two newsletters with overlapping coverage is not easy. Sometimes the Editor gets confused and prints the same materials twice in the same newsletter, sometimes even in the same issue. The Edward Tenner article, "The Paradoxical Proliferation of Paper," got caught in the turnstile and was printed in both vol. 2 and vol. 4. New subscribers would not have seen it twice, but long-time subscribers have been cheated to a certain extent by this duplication, and the Editor asks them to accept her apologies.

The Alkaline Paper Advocate is issued six times a year and has about 500 subscribers. Subscriptions (which include a free pH pen) are on a calendar year basis: All start with the first issue of the year, unless otherwise requested, and end on Dec. 31, or after the last issue of the year has appeared. An index for the previous year is sent out in the first quarter. Individual subscriptions, and uncomplicated subscriptions from institutions, are $30; full-time students $20; others $40. All issues are in print and indexed.

No paid advertisements are accepted, but anything with news value will be printed if there is room for it. News items and information may be sent or called in at any time. Readers are encouraged to copy or circulate issues and parts of issues, and to reprint unsigned articles and news items; but the Editor's permission must be obtained for reprinting lengthy or signed articles.
