Mill Conversions

E.B. Eddy's Hull-Ottawa mill converted the last of its five machines to alkaline in November of 1990. This mill makes a lot of lightweight publishing grades, like Ecusta (now part of Glatfelter) does.

The last of the Hammermill mills converted during the first week of June this year. (Hammermill is owned by International Paper, but all its papers are sold under the Hammermill trademark.) The mills, and their conversion dates, are:

Grays Harbor - Dec. 1986
Erie - April 1988
Lock Haven Jan. 1989
Riverdale Feb. 1989
Oswego - June 1991
