Mill Conversions
- Esleeck is now making all its business bond papers in the
neutral range (pH 6.5-7.5). By August 1st they converted all, or
nearly all, the papers they are going to convert. They make many
technical papers, including diazo intermediate paper, which must be
made acid. Their erasable paper may or may not convert.
- Cross Pointe's Flambeau mill completed its conversion alkaline
papermaking at the end of August.
- The Swedish company Mo och Donisjö (MoDo) went alkaline in
November 1988. Ingmar Fröjd, who gave this information, says
70%. of Swedish fine paper is now alkaline.
