The College of Engineering at Auburn University invites applications and nominations for the position of Director of the Pulp and Paper Research and Educational Center (PPREC).
To serve the needs of the pulp and paper industry, the PPREC, a state funded interdisciplinary research and educational center, was established at Auburn University in 1985. An Industrial Pulp and Paper Technical Advisory council advises and guides the development of the center. The educational component of the center includes a Pulp and Paper Engineering option available to students in the undergraduate Chemical Engineering program and in graduate program emphasizing pulp and paper science technology. Location of the center in an academic research environment offers unique opportunities to develop multidisciplinary pulp and paper research at both the fundamental and applied levels. The Director will encourage strong extramural industrial and federally supported research to complement the state funding.
The successful candidate must submit evidence of scholarship and the ability to administer and lead the development and implementation of strong pulp and paper research and education Programs- It is expected that the candidate will have an engineering background with a doctoral degree and will qualify for a faculty appointment in an appropriate academic department.
