People
- The American Paper Institute has named Virgil K. Horton, Jr.,
vice president of the paper group. He succeeds James L. Hutchison,
who has retired from API after 20 years of service. Horton was
formerly at Westvaco, where he held a series of sales and marketing
management positions in the Fine Paper Division.
- Ralph W. Gordon, a member of the Ad Hoc Committee on Paper
Permanence in TAPPI's Paper and Board Division, and recently retired
from Domtar in Senneville, Quebec, was honored with a Special
Certificate of Appreciation by the Coating and Graphic Arts Division
during the 1990 Coating Conference in Boston. He has been active in
the Printing and Imaging Committee and chaired various conferences
in graphic arts.
- Barry Crouse has joined the Institute of Paper Science and
Technology as professor and director of the Research Services
Division.
