Errol Somay began work September 20 as Coordinator of the Virginia Newspaper Project. His address is: Virginia State Library and Archives, 11th St. at Capitol Square, Richmond, VA 23219.

Valerie Metzler and Bill Minter have moved their respective businesses from Chicago to Pennsylvania. William Minter Bookbinding and Conservation and Valerie Metzler, Archivist/Historian (her consulting business) are both at RD 1 - Box 99, Woodbury, PA 16695. His work phone and fax number is 814/793-4020 and her phone number is 814/793-9289.

Maria Fredericks started work at the Huntington Library November 8 as conservator of rare books. Her address at the Huntington is 1151 Oxford Rd., San Marino, CA 91108 (818/ 405-2199, fax 405-0225). She can be reached there Monday through Thursday. This year she is the program chair of the AIC Book & Paper Group.

Kate Murray has been appointed Collections Conservator at New York University, where she will be responsible for the physical care of a wide range of research materials, including archives and special collections. In addition to six years experience in conservation, binding and paper-mending, Kate has recently completed research and analysis of 18th and 19th century endpapers and participated in other papermaking duties at the Dieu Donne Papermill.

John Baker retired from his position as head of the Conservation Division at the New York Public Library on January 20. He is succeeded by Duane Watson.
