Most of the Abbey Newsletter's expenses, and those of its companion publication, the Alkaline Paper Advocate, are not paid by an outside organization, but by its 1200-odd subscribers, sales of back issues and the pH pen, and by voluntary donations. Last year these donations totaled $3663. The editor and trustees of Abbey Publications, Inc., want to express appreciation for this support and the economic security it has brought. The 1989 annual report, which describes all activities carried out in support of preservation and conservation, is being sent to all donors and is available on request from the office.
This year $1845 has been received.
