I can't say positively but one of my old textile books shows a similar photo called a napping machine for making flannel blankets and other heavy flannel fabrics. Photo is not the greatest which is why I'm only making a guestimate.

Hello All!

I need an identification.  This machine was found in our collection, but we really don’t have any textile experts here. Can anyone tell me what it was for and a date? We think possibly for brushing cloth. Does it have an “official” name?
