Information and applications for the 2008 FAIC - Latin American and Caribbean scholarships are now available the AIC website at   http://aic.stanford.edu/faic/grants/latinamerican.html . 

 

The Foundation of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (FAIC) is working on obtaining financial support to offer scholarships to conservation professionals from Latin America and the Caribbean to participate in the 2008 AIC Annual Meeting. This announcement is posted before the funding is obtained due to the length of time needed to disseminate the information, receive the documentation from applicants, and process the applications. However, this does not imply a commitment by FAIC to give scholarships. Conservation professionals with a minimum of three years of experience and currently employed in the conservation field may apply. AIC membership is not required. Priority will be given to new applicants; and previous scholarship recipients may apply again.
 
Hope you can pass this news to your network of Spanish and Portuguese speaking colleagues. Our goal is to promote one-on-one contact between conservators from North America and colleagues from South and Central American and the Caribbean countries.
