Hi Sarah,
I'm not sure about continental Europe, but I'm a member of ICON (the conservation organization in the UK) and they have a searchable conservation register for conservators across the Channel at http://www.conservationregister.com/index.asp

I'm still looking for a referral system for European conservators --
does one exist?
